Location: Frozen Head State Park, Wartburg, TN (Morgan County). Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Pay

$2,896.00 monthly ($34,752.00 annually).

About the role

This is the second classification in the Tennessee State Parks (TSP) Maintenance Series. The position performs and assists with grounds maintenance, janitorial tasks, facility maintenance and repair, equipment operation, and fire suppression and prevention. It differs from TSP Maintenance Worker (less complex repairs) and TSP Maintenance Lead (more complex repairs and staff leadership).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine janitorial duties to maintain clean and safe facilities.
• Collect and remove trash from facility grounds and surrounding areas.
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment in primarily outdoor conditions, including commercial mowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and other building maintenance power and hand tools.
• Conduct basic electrical, plumbing, masonry, mechanical repair, and painting duties.
• Communicate with the public to provide basic customer service and direct persons to appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with team members by sharing technical knowledge and supporting group project completion.

Requirements

• No formal education or experience required.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
