About the Program
Training Ground offers a unique eight-week summer experience in Tennessee for men aged 18 to 25, designed to help you re-calibrate, reorient, and reboot your inner world with God. This immersive program blends outdoor adventures, mentorship, worship, and community to guide you toward clarity and purpose in your next life steps.
Set aside a season to intentionally engage with your life, confront fears, and gain victory over challenges. Surrounded by mentors and peers, you’ll explore who you are and what God is calling you to do.
Program Details
Dates: May 30th – July 28th, 2026
This fully immersive experience is custom-built to include work, community, shared responsibility, challenge, and brotherhood. Adventures include:
- Backpacking in the mountains of North Carolina
- Fly-fishing across the Southeast for multiple species
- A 10-day backcountry trip to the Gunnison Range of Colorado (climbing, fly-fishing, and a capstone experience)
- Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and hiking the Appalachian Trail
- A small local weekend adventure in the mountains of Tennessee
Teaching & Mentorship
Every week, you’ll receive intentional Biblical teaching from local Tennessee community leaders, including pastors, counselors, and guides. These sessions are designed to help you navigate life’s challenges and grow in your faith.
You’ll be surrounded by expert staff and trained mentors who have walked similar paths and are eager to offer wisdom and guidance. This experience is packed with life-changing teaching and relationships.
Lodging
Your home base will be a house in central Southeast Tennessee, serving as your launchpad for nightly teaching, weekend adventures, and daily work routines. This space fosters invaluable conversations and community.
Cost & Financial Options
The total cost for the 8.5-week program is $5,000, which covers:
- Housing
- Teaching and mentorship
- Basic food
- Devotionals and journals
- Gear for trips
- All wilderness excursions
Scholarships are available—money will never be the sole reason you can’t attend. Explore these options:
- Pay Through Work: Earn part of your tuition by working full-time during the program (around 6 weeks). Your total paychecks will equal approximately $2,500–$3,500, covering most of your tuition.
- Raise Funds: Some participants raise part or all of their tuition through family, friends, or their church.
- Pay In Full: The total cost is $5,000, covering all program components.
