About the role
Manage the preparation and ensure the accurate and timely submission of winning tenders to clients while safeguarding the company's commercial interests during the sales, tendering, and contract negotiation phases of assigned potential projects.
Responsibilities
- Initiate contact with potential customers and establish connections with design houses, operators, and personal contacts at appropriate stages in the project cycle.
- Liaise with the internal DeepOcean team to inform them of client information and requirements.
- Lead and manage tenders, ensuring all technical, commercial, pricing, and client expectations are met.
- Ensure DeepOcean is pre-qualified with potential customers as necessary.
- Initiate and maintain planned regional visit tracking and reporting activity.
- Develop a local marketing plan in consultation with the Commercial Manager and VP - Commercial.
- Attend and participate in local industry trade shows and exhibitions.
- Develop and refine strategy for entering new regional territories in conjunction with Regional Management.
- Ensure DeepOcean receives appropriate invitation-to-tender packages.
- Review tender packages and develop tender strategy in consultation with Regional Senior Management where appropriate.
- Lead the tender review process in accordance with DeepOcean guidelines.
- Lead the commercial handover process for awarded tenders to the operations group.
- Contribute to prospects and tender listings.
- Prepare and circulate client contact reports.
- Attend specialist exhibitions, conferences, and briefings.
- Review specialist media and provide appropriate reports or recommendations.
- Utilize commercially available media, including appropriate databases.
- Track preparation of tender and pricing status.
- Provide constructive feedback on tender presentation and pricing.
- Liaise with client contacts after proposal submission.
- Assist in the tender clarification process where appropriate.
- Lead or contribute significantly in tender negotiations as appropriate.
- Develop annual Business Plans for Senior Management Review.
- Maintain informal client liaison after contract award, monitor progress, and provide feedback or suggestions for improvement.
- Achieve annual revenue targets for your area of responsibility.
- Ensure ITIs are received from potential customers and maintain excellent client relations.
- Complete contact documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform the role in a manner that contributes to regional and group objectives.
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge base of the industry.
- Commercial skills and contractual understanding.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability in developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Experience and knowledge of proposal composition and application.
- Self-discipline, decisiveness, tenacity, and independence.
- Degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with ROV and subsea operations (preferred).
