About the role
A temporary Upper School Spanish Language Teacher position is available for the Spring Semester of the 2026-27 academic year at Iolani School.
Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish language courses to students in grades 9-12
- Develop lesson plans and materials aligned with state standards
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the overall educational program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Valid teaching license in the state of Hawaii
- Experience teaching Spanish at the high school level preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- Knowledge of Spanish language pedagogy and curriculum development
- Experience using technology in the classroom
