About the Role
The Center for Academic Success (CfAS) Department is seeking a Temporary Tutor to join their team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Conducts individual, small group, and/or online tutoring sessions.
- Reviews classroom or curricula topics and assignments.
- Assists students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks.
- Works with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
- Provides students positive and constructive feedback.
- Participate in tutor training sessions/meetings.
- Support projects appropriate to the department functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Temporary Disclosure
As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. As a temporary employee, you are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g. dental, vision,) which requires full payment on your part. Upon completing an assignment, employees may apply for a position on FIU Careers.
Schedule
Work schedule varies. Position dates: 9/01/26 – 9/01/27.
Pay
$15 – $20 per hour.
