About the Role

This position is responsible for painting road markings, installing signs, and the installation, maintenance, and repair of parking meters. Additionally, this role assists in all Right of Way (ROW) operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Paint crosswalks, arrows, stop bars, school legends, railroad legends, and other markings maintained by the Traffic Department.
  • Maintain paint machines and all associated products.
  • Collect, record, and deposit all meter revenue on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the layout and spacing of proposed meters.
  • Collect, record, and deposit pay station revenue as needed.
  • Assist in the installation, repair, and removal of all traffic signs city-wide.
  • Assist in the installation of all roadway and parking lot pavement markings.
  • Assist other work teams when needed.
  • Act as an "Ambassador" for the City by carrying out work and interacting with co-workers and the public in a respectful, professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Ability to manually lift and operate a 45-pound post driver for installation of 12-foot sign poles.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate certification for all required classes and trainings to maintain department equipment.
  • Familiarity with traffic control procedures preferred.
  • Ability to lay out parking spaces preferred.
  • Regular attendance is necessary and essential to meeting job expectations.
  • Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules, and personnel policies.

Pay

$22.00 hourly.
