Temporary Teacher - Elementary Physical Education (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

A Teacher in the Tucson Unified School District advances student achievement through effective management of the learning environment, including preparing lesson plans, evaluating, and monitoring student performance and progress. Teachers provide effective and equitable instruction to students in various planned courses, demonstrate a solid commitment to continuous learning, and understand and appreciate diversity. They collaboratively develop instructional strategies that encourage students to analyze and interpret class material while maintaining a safe, respectful classroom to optimize student strengths and foster natural curiosity and a love of learning.
Requirements
- Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 OR Arizona PreK-12 Physical Education Certificate
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (prior to start date)
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
Schedule
- Full-time (FTE: 1.0)
- 7.5 hours per day
- 9.5-month work calendar (207 days)
- Position ends 5/26/2027
Pay
Salary is based on the district’s approved pay scale, with increases funded through a community-approved override guaranteed through June 2031. Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar.
