Provides coverage for teachers who are absent throughout Westminster Public Schools.

Plans for student differences.

Applies principles of teaching/learning to provide for student achievement.

Adjusts instruction to meet student needs.

Communicates effectively with learners.

Maximizes learning time for all students.

Displays a fair and just manner for all students.

Communicates an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations.

Plans effectively and purposefully for the use of time, materials, and resources.

Creates a classroom environment that promotes instruction.

Organizes students for effective instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provides coverage for teachers who are absent throughout Westminster Public Schools.

Requirements

• Be up to date on current learning theory and state of the art pedagogy in teaching.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, parents and administrators.
• Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of Competency-based Education approaches.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Bilingual desired.
• Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired.

Qualifications

• Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Ed, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired.

Skills

• Effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, parents and administrators.
• Knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of Competency-based Education approaches.
