Temporary Student Support Case Manager and Facilitator

The Office of Student Affairs is currently seeking an experienced and talented counseling professional to serve as a temporary student support case manager and Wellness Facilitator. Responsibilities
- Facilitate case management support to students who are experiencing personal challenges, psychosocial issues, and/or behavioral concerns through a variety of 1:1 check-ins, interventions, referrals and follow-up services.
- Efficiently and effectively manage a caseload through an electronic reporting database system and communicate with members of CARE team, Pitzer Intervention Team (PIT) and other administrators regarding students of concern in a timely manner.
- Correspond with students working to adhere to college policies, mandates, or requirements to ensure success and continued enrollment with the College.
- Develop, implement, coordinate and assess outreach programs and psycho educational/prevention workshops focused on mental health concerns and enhancement.
- Work collaboratively with constituencies of The Claremont Colleges (a.k.a. 7C) to enhance outreach education and prevention services on campus. Liaise with MCAPS clinicians, MCAPS Case Manager and central student services (e.g. OBSA, CLSA, Chaplains, HEO, Athletics, EmPOWER, etc.) to understand 7C student trends to develop and implement proactive and responsive collaborative initiatives to further support opportunities with related student clubs and organizations.
- Develop, implement, coordinate and assess health and wellness initiatives at Pitzer, including Strive to Thrive programming, in collaboration with Pitzer Academic Support Services.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position. Other duties may also be assigned to support divisional or College-wide needs.
- Assist with the set-up and teardown of event tables, signage and other materials.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Social Work is required.
- Experience managing response to crises and working as part of a case-management support team.
- Must be self-directed, organized, and possess strong communication skills with ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
- Work in close collaboration with faculty, faculty advisors, health care providers, Student Affairs colleagues and parents. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of treatment programs, mental health terminology, clinical practice in a higher education or social services setting.
- Possess clear understanding of medical privacy regulations as they pertain to a higher education setting.
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information to multiple stakeholders. Must be able to remain calm, composed, effective and professional in crisis and difficult situations.
- Demonstrates compassion, initiative and self-reliance, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Write English with attention to spelling, grammar, accuracy and the needs of the target audience; presents numerical data effectively; articulates a compelling message; and uses various mediums of communication effectively (e.g. emails, memos/letters, social media).
- Speaks English clearly, persuasively and cordially with individuals from multiple constituencies within the institution in a diverse and socially aware environment.
- High proficiency in serving as an administrator and maintaining an organized workload with realistic action plans.
- High proficiency in teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and organizational problem solving.
- Knowledge for establishing effective working relationships with a variety of constituents.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practices, cultural competence, and effectiveness in addressing the needs of historically underrepresented populations.
- Demonstrated utilization of data for planning and evaluation of programs and services.

- Must have access to reliable and secure computer and internet connection. Must maintain password protection for work files and records and ensure that no one else has access to password and login credentials at remote work site.
- Must have access to a dedicated and suitable workstation at remote location, including desk or table and supporting, upright chair. Must ensure workstation is safe and free from hazards.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the college’s insurer.
Schedule
This is a part-time position working up to 19 hours per week from August 17th, 2026 to September 30th, 2026. The regular hours for this position will be scheduled between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department.
Pay
Budgeted Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 an hour

Physical Requirements
This is generally a sedentary position. Must be able to:
- Sit for prolonged periods of time
- Operate a computer for prolonged periods of time
- Communicate with others by email, in person and over the telephone
- Read printed materials and a computer screen
- Have the mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment
- Reach overhead, grasp, pull, push, stoop, bend, and twist
- Lift 15 pounds from the ground to waist level unassisted
