TEMPORARY - Standardized Patient
Primary Purpose
The Standardized Patient (SP) reports directly to the Course Lead Instructor or Program Director. The SP portrays characteristics of a real patient, simulating signs and symptoms and functional abilities, thereby affording the student an opportunity to learn and be evaluated on performing clinical skills in a simulated environment. SPs will undergo physical examinations and treatment interventions by students as part of the physical therapy students learning experience.

Essential Job Functions
- Be dependable and punctual
- Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments
- Follow written and verbal instruction
- Provide constructive feedback to students and fellow SPs
- Work in a professional manner when interacting with students, faculty, supervisors, and peers
- Be comfortable participating in repeated physical examinations and interventions
- Willing to wear a hospital gown with only undergarments underneath while on camera and/or observed live through an observation monitor
- Accurately and consistently complete checklists
- Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators and incorporate into case scenarios
