Essential Duties
- Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students
- Models correct use of language, oral and written
- Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
- Identifies speech and language disordered students through evaluation and analyzing communication skills of students found in the identification process
- Plans and implements developmentally appropriate interactive learning experiences
- Provides consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies in order to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
- Evaluates and reports student progress for continuation or termination of services
- Participates with school administration/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of speech/language pathology program into the total education system
- Provides assessments that measure student achievement of objectives
- Utilizes technology effectively to plan, teach, and assess
- Evaluates, selects, and modifies resources and activities to match learners’ needs and meet the curriculum standards

Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of education from a PSC-approved college or university
- Required: Valid service certificate in Speech and Language Pathology
- Prior experience in school or education setting preferred
- Physical demands: Stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time; lifting up to 30 pounds may be required on an occasional basis; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required
