Job Summary
The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. The role involves demonstrating leadership, adhering to regulatory requirements, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Essential Responsibilities
Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Serves as a leader, delegating tasks appropriately and holding team members accountable.
Understands and supports the scope of practice for both the nurse and team members.
Communicates effectively within the healthcare team and with patients and families.
Participates in problem-solving and mentoring others.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, monitoring progress and making revisions as necessary.
Maintains a safe and functional work environment, treating patients and families with respect and compassion.
Provides clear and understandable information to patients and families about their care and discharge instructions.
Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve patient issues.
Manages workloads efficiently to minimize overtime usage.
Assists in identifying and improving processes within the unit.
Attends mandatory meetings and participates in professional development opportunities.
Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment.
Reports to assigned areas promptly and is available for shifts.
Experience
Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
No formal education requirements.
Registered Nurse License (California).
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are preferred.
Additional Requirements
This is a temporary seasonal position, non-benefited with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.
Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
Primary location: California, Baldwin Park, Baldwin Park Medical Offices.
Scheduled weekly hours: 24.
Shift: Night.
Working hours start: 07:00 PM.
Job schedule: Part-time.
