What You’ll Do
- Serve as a youth mentor and behavioral coach, guiding students through challenging situations and helping them develop self-regulation and pro-social skills.
- Supervise students in the school setting, model appropriate behaviors, and promote positive development.
- Use crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, behavior management strategies, clear boundaries, and structured routines to keep the environment safe and supportive.
- Document behaviors, communicate with the team, and help implement behavior plans.
- Support teachers while taking active responsibility for student engagement and behavior outcomes.
- Responsible for working with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues resulting from trauma and neglect, and who display verbal and physical aggression.

- Competitive Pay: In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $22.00-$24.50 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law.

- Enjoys mentoring youth who struggle in traditional settings who may have behavioral disorders, emotional disturbances, trauma histories, or mental health needs.
- Has hands-on experience working with youth in education, behavioral health, recreation, mentoring, or similar roles.
Requirements
- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in health/human services/education-related field.
- Must have experience working with youth.
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Must be willing to pass FBI fingerprint & child abuse database background checks.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for child care facilities.
- Experience as a teacher assistant, behavioral tech, coach, or youth mentor is a plus, but not required.
