Temporary Research Associate
Job Description
Professor Makaroff is seeking a temporary Research Associate to coordinate joint computational and experimental work with Harvard University on activation/inhibition of cortical neurons by magnetic microstimulation (micro-coils).
Responsibilities
- Coordination of WPI-MGH joint computational and experimental research work with Professor Fried and his team on activation/inhibition of cortical neurons by magnetic microstimulation (micro-coils).
- Simulation of coil fields in a dense cellular environment.
Requirements
- Biomedical engineer with knowledge of neuronal activation and interactions including synaptic activation.
- Knowledge of NEURON software is a plus.
Compensation
Hourly pay rate: $35.00 per hour. This is a hybrid, 15 hour per week position until the end of August 2026.
Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
This is a non-exempt position under the FLSA.
About the Role
The Research Associate will be part of the Electrical & Computer Engineering department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), working closely with Professor Fried and his team at Harvard University.
