Temporary Research Assistant - Vines

About the role

The University of Georgia seeks a Temporary Research Assistant to support a turfgrass breeding program. The position will assist with field maintenance, sample collection, laboratory processing, data entry, and preliminary data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field trial setup, maintenance, and data collection (30%)
• Organize, label, and process plant samples in lab or office (25%)
• Data entry and preparation of spreadsheets for analysis (20%)
• Auxiliary UAV-based image capture and equipment setup (10%)
• Attend team meetings and provide research updates (10%)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of research space (5%)

Requirements

• Experience in turfgrass management, research, agriculture, or related field
• Interest in pursuing graduate studies
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Basic understanding of plant sciences or agriculture
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions
