Temporary Research Assistant

Essential Job Duties

• Organizing, cleaning, and managing datasets from long-term research data from the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS)
• Writing Python and/or R scripts for data processing, statistical analyses, and reproducible workflows
• Analyzing treatment effects of long-term regenerative farming practices on soil, crop, and environmental outcomes
• Creating figures, tables, and data visualizations to summarize results for project reports, presentations, and publications
• Assisting with interpreting results and contributing to project deliverables
• Attending project meetings, sharing progress updates, collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and other research team members
• Maintaining organized records of code, datasets, outputs, and analysis decisions

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education: Relevant Master's degree or Relevant Bachelor's and 3 or more years of relevant experience, or relevant independent experience and education

Department Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python or R for scientific computing and data analysis
• Experience with version control, data visualization, and statistical modeling
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team

Preferred Skills, Training, Education:

• Experience with hypothesis testing and big data analytics
• Fluency with ML/AI tools

Pay

$22/hr

Schedule

21-25 hours per week
