TEMPORARY Professional GT Support Services - Advanced Academic Studies - School Year 2026-2027

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist campus personnel with implementing on-campus PGP program, making necessary accommodations for differences in student learning style.
• Aid Advanced Academics Department and campuses personnel with GT testing.
• Work cooperatively with staff members to determine assessment goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements.
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school district.
• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Absorb and implement new strategies and techniques as directed by the Advanced Academic Studies Director.
• Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
• Establish and maintain open communication with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Present information accurately and clearly using effective communication skills.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Insightful, flexible, and creative.
• Proficient in the effective use of technology.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
• Bilingual a plus.
