Temporary Physical Science Adjunct
About the role
Independence Community College employs adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate level courses. The position offers independence and flexibility, allowing instructors to teach in evening, weekend, and online programs.
Responsibilities
- Organize and teach on-line classes as assigned.
- Deliver quality instruction which prepares students for further education and/or the workplace.
- Manage the teaching environment to serve all learners.
- Provide regular and timely evaluation feedback to students.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Submit mid-term and final grades.
- Participate in institutional effectiveness initiatives including assessment and evaluation.
- Demonstrate professionalism with faculty, administration, staff and students.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the chosen discipline, or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in the concentration.
- PREFERRED: Higher education teaching experience. Experience with the Canvas learning management platform.
Physical Demands
- Frequently stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit.
- Sometimes push or lift items.
Salary / Wage
$675 per credit hour taught
