Temporary Part-Time Retail Sales Manager
About the Role
A successful Retail Sales Manager will strive to go for WOW! — the standard of customer service at Duluth Trading Company. This means treating customers right and looking for opportunities to go above and beyond to create special experiences.
This is a temporary, part-time, hourly supervisory position.
Responsibilities
- Develop an exceptional familiarity with the Duluth brand and comprehensive product knowledge to provide solution-oriented, friendly service to customers.
- Lead the store team to demonstrate the same level of service and engagement, setting clear expectations.
- Manage floor coverage to engage customers and drive the Duluth experience.
- Ensure accurate recording of customer profile information.
- Respond proactively to customer concerns, provide positive resolutions, and make empowered decisions.
- Maintain merchandise presentation according to Visual Merchandising standards, current floor-sets, and product messaging.
- Ensure the sales floor is customer-ready at all times.
- Effectively set up sales and promotions with proper signing and communication.
- Execute and supervise merchandise receipts and transfers, including checking in, hanging, steaming, and visual merchandising on the sales floor.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness in the sales floor, stockroom, restrooms, cash wrap, and hospitality area.
- Provide clear and consistent feedback to employees on a regular basis.
- Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and programs, setting a positive example.
- Understand, execute, and train all cash-handling and reporting functions.
- Process all register functions and ensure compliance with store procedures.
- Ensure store security and respond to alarms as directed.
- Prioritize the safety of employees and customers, communicating concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Customer-centric mindset with pride in delivering quality work and ownership of store performance.
- Operates with integrity and trust.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Collaborative team player.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Environmental Factors
- Ability to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting — below the waist and above the shoulders.
- Frequent use of repetitive hand-to-finger motions and reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Push/pull up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, reach, and bend.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 50–85 degrees, especially in stockroom areas.
- Use of a computer up to 60% of the time throughout the day.

Pay
$20.70 to $22.98/hour. Compensation is based on location, experience, and qualifications.
