Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans that cover a range of proficiency levels in Spanish language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and cultural understanding.
- Absess student learning through exams, quizzes, projects, and other means, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, utilizing school-wide grading and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional strategies across grade levels and disciplines.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- MA teaching certification in Spanish.
- Proven experience teaching Spanish at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of language acquisition theories and methodologies.
- Fluency in Spanish and a deep appreciation for the cultures of Spanish-speaking people.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to professional growth and development as an educator.
