About the role
The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Works, Parks Division is hiring a Temporary Laborer.
Essential Duties
- Performs miscellaneous skilled and unskilled manual duties in the maintenance and care of recreation areas, athletic fields, park and playground equipment.
- Lines playing fields.
- Plants trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Replaces grass.
- Repair fences, water fountains, drainage systems, swings, slides, and other playground equipment.
- Paints and does other maintenance work.
- Performs other related unskilled labor duties such as cleaning debris and leaf removal.
- May also operate weedwhacker.
- Tree Cutting And Removal.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some experience in maintenance work involving turf maintenance and other skilled/unskilled job duties.
- General knowledge of parks and recreation department operations.
