Temporary Laborer
About the role
Mattiola Services, LLC, a partner of H&K Group, Inc., is looking for an experienced and motivated Temporary Laborer from August 2026 to January 2026. The Laborer works on construction projects, transferring from one task to another where demands require a worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision.
This temporary position could lead to a full-time position. Mattiola Services, LLC provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
Responsibilities
- Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Report to Dispatch daily to receive work for each day
- Load/unload equipment & tools needed for daily operations using provided checklist
- Maintain in-depth understanding of the operation and safety requirements for all equipment used
- Understand diamond blade usage, bonds, and performances, and report usage each day
- Clean up slurry as required
- Tag damaged equipment & place in proper repair area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required skills, education, and experience include one month of related experience as a highway saw cutter or relevant training. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Able to understand and measure linear footage and record measurements
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred skills, education, and experience include a one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in a related field, experience operating various equipment safely, and experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include distance, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, noise level is usually moderate.
