Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with human clinical specimen handling and storage.
- Perform rapid diagnostic tests in a lab according to standard operating procedures, using human specimens.
- Run ELISA and other instrumented laboratory assays, using human specimens.
- Maintain records and product inventory.
- Collect, organize, and interpret experimental results.
- Compile, write, and edit procedures and reports.
- Perform other diagnostic tests for proteins and nucleic acids.
- Prepare reagents and solutions using a written protocol.
- Absorb and present results at meetings.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
- A minimum of one year full-time laboratory experience.
- Ace in Biology or a related field with an Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science.
- Experience performing laboratory instrumented assays, especially immunoassays.
- A high attention to detail, good observation and problem-solving skills, and clarity in record keeping.
- Knowledge of basic lab safety and pathogen handling.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage several tasks by setting priorities and scheduling resources within the team.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft office applications such as Excel.
- Interest in global health.
Pay
The hourly rate for this temporary role in the U.S. is $33.74. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
