About the role

Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation provides a variety of sports and social programs for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities of all ages and ability levels. In addition to recreational programs, we also provide inclusion services, which assist people with disabilities to be successful in mainstream programs with their peers. Our programs take place at a variety of locations throughout Salt Lake County, with a majority of programs taking place at Copperview Recreation Center in Midvale.

Responsibilities

• Provide adaptive sports programming for individuals with disabilities.
• Facilitate adaptive social programs that promote community engagement.
• Offer adaptive aquatics classes to participants.
• Support inclusion services to help people with disabilities participate in mainstream programs.

Requirements

• Pass a required pre-employment background check.
• Must be able to work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
• Must be eligible for "At Will" employment without County benefits.
• Must be able to work in various locations throughout Salt Lake County.

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning and participation styles.
• Knowledge of adaptive sports equipment and techniques.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.
