Essential Job Functions
- Performs building and ground maintenance, including painting, lawn care, planting, shoveling snow, and mowing at various locations.
- Performs carpentry repairs on furniture and building structures, such as doors, windows, locks, and shelving units.
- Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties as needed.
- Sets up/tears down auditorium and Spark Space for various daily events.
- Processes outgoing mail, including customer billing.
- Operates machines and equipment necessary for the mailroom, such as folding machine, stuffing machine, and postage meter.
- Handles Daily Payment Processing data, including cash and check payments.
- Opens the mail and drop box payments.
- Processes dead mail returned by the Post Office.
- Aid in the exchange of rubber protective equipment.
- Maintain inventory and warehouse areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.
- Run parts/supplies out to field personnel as needed.
- Assist with making inventory labels for incoming material.
- Assist with duties related to preparing and shipping out items via FedEx, UPS, and Freight.
- Assist with disposal of salvage materials in proper manner.
- Aid in receiving, unloading, and accounting for material purchased and supplied to BED.
- Aid in conducting weekly and annual inventory counts.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

- High school diploma, Adult Education or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in building maintenance environment - preferred.
- Experience operating office machinery preferred.
- Working knowledge of personal computers using the internet and Outlook.
- Knowledge of materials and equipment associated with an electric utility preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Vermont driver's license required.
- Ability to operate related tools and equipment required.
- Must be tactful, courteous, and able to get along well with co-workers and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and written directions, prioritize multiple tasks, and solve problems.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions required.
- Regular attendance is necessary and is essential to meeting the expectations of the job functions.
- Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules, and personnel policies.
