Temporary Faculty, Early Childhood Education

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate AA and BS courses in ECE in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences. The successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of in-person and online ECE foundational courses in the major such as infants and toddler development, child development, ECE curriculum and instruction (e.g. math, social studies, literacy), assessment, and/or disabilities, and/or familiarity with supporting field experience. The applicant will be a contributing member of the department, the ECE committee, and will engage in teaching and service duties while supporting the department’s ECE mission.

Qualifications

• A doctorate or ABD with a dissertation near completion in early childhood education, early childhood special education, or related field is required.
• Teaching certification in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education, and a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience at the early childhood level (birth through 8 years) is preferred.
• Teaching experience in higher education, knowledge of early childhood educator development, and teacher education program accreditation processes is desired.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
