Temporary Elections Job - Roving Tech Worker

About the role

This is an on-site position with no remote availability, involving travel throughout the county to support election operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies: counting and filling envelopes, writing serial numbers, completing forms, working with hand tools, and counting in numerical order.
• Assist with loading and unloading machines at poll locations.
• Support the Warehouse Coordinator and IT personnel in set-up, testing, and troubleshooting of election equipment.
• Travel county-wide in response to equipment service calls.
• Deliver and replenish equipment and supplies to polling locations as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to sit and/or stand all day.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Computer literacy.
• Accurate counting and numerical filing skills.
• Ability to read and write neatly.
• Flexibility to work in fast-paced, slow-paced, or repetitious environments.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and later evenings.
• Ability to work individually or in teams.
• Possession of a mobile phone capable of text communication.
• Safe and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed at the federal rate for field assignments; a Supervisor of Elections vehicle will be provided when available).

Dress code

• Long pants required.
• Collared shirt (polo or button-up) required when working in the field.

Pay

$16.50 per hour.
