Temporary | Custodian

About the Role

The University of Notre Dame is seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to join our team as a Temporary/On-Call Custodian. In this role, you will work across campus facilities within a vibrant, mission-driven community that values and supports every employee.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all types of interior building spaces
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and scrub floors and surfaces
• Remove trash and recyclables and properly dispose of waste
• Refill restroom supply dispensers
• Shovel snow and dispense ice melt product near building entrances and exits
• Follow safe operating procedures when performing custodial tasks, using chemicals, and operating tools and equipment
• Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance issues promptly

Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 95% of the shift
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Must be able to push and pull wheeled loads
• Must be able to successfully complete and follow all assigned training
• Must be able to work safely and follow operating procedures
• Must be able to take direction and work independently or as part of a team
• Must be dependable, punctual, and have good communication skills, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Some custodial work experience
• Basic computer skills

Schedule

Monday - Friday | 6 am - 2:30 pm with some schedule flexibility for weekend and event coverage

Pay

$18.00/hr
