About the role

Under the guidance and support of various stakeholders in community, student, and alumni relations and external affairs, the Communications Coordinator supports, creates, and executes internal and external communications. The Coordinator generates targeted messaging for staff, faculty, students, alumni, and other key audiences to amplify and elevate communications, including social media, digital assets, and posts. This role develops organic communications for diverse audiences and uses various communication platforms to create and edit content across multiple channels.

Responsibilities

  • Supports internal and external communications to align messaging with strategy and objectives.
  • Writes and edits clear, persuasive copy for multiple channels at high standards.
  • Researches, writes, and edits copy for web-based, print, and marketing materials.
  • Ensures deliverables align with brand messaging, research, and insights, maintaining consistency in style, quality, and tone.
  • Creates original content for newsletters and social media using various software.
  • Develops graphic designs for newsletters, social media posts, and other communications.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders to understand objectives and offer insights or solutions.
  • Establishes communication vehicles, cadence, and guidelines to follow protocol strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in communications, media production, and social media, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Salesforce, iModules, Canva, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with a diverse community.
  • Excellent writing skills adaptable to various audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Travel

Remote, USA. Limited travel may be required, including participation in annual events such as commencement if within close proximity.
