Temporary Automotive Detailer - Car Washer - TLH Airport

We offer extensive car rental, carsharing, truck rental, fleet management, retail car sales, and other transportation services to make travel easier and more convenient for customers.

About the role

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated person to join our team as a temporary full-time Automotive Detailer. This position is located at the Tallahassee Airport (3300 Capital Cir SW, Tallahassee, FL 32310) and is a temporary role lasting a maximum of 120 days. The starting pay is $16/hour based on a 40-hour workweek.

Schedule

• Wednesday–Sunday: 2pm–11pm
• Thursday–Monday: 2pm–11pm
• Friday–Tuesday: 5am–2pm
• Wednesday–Sunday: 5am–2pm

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interior according to industry-standard protocols.
• Wash, clean, and dry the vehicle's exterior—including cars, vans, and trucks.
• Inspect vehicles for the following:
  • Fuel level and warning lights
  • Windshield damage
  • Customer items (place valuables in Lost & Found)
  • Registration (ensure it is present, current, and matches the license plate)
  • Fluid levels (check and add as needed)
  • Tire condition, pressure, and tread depth
  • Exterior damage
  • Safety concerns (report warning lights or damage)
• Fuel and stage vehicles for rental readiness.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; report unsafe or hazardous conditions.
• Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors.
• Assist customers as needed, including transporting them to and from branches.
• Help maintain overall site appearance, including:
  • Cleaning desktops, countertops, phones, floors, and bathrooms
  • Vacuuming and sweeping the lot
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks related to daily branch cleanliness
• Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with no more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past three years.
• Candidates with more than one excessive speeding violation (26+ mph over the posted limit) in the past three years will be disqualified.
• No drug or alcohol-related convictions on driving record in the past five years.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must live within a reasonable commute (no more than 30 minutes) from the Tallahassee Airport location.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available for temporary work lasting a maximum of 120 days.

Pay

$16/hour based on a 40-hour workweek.
