Temporary Access Service Assistant

About the role

The Library Operations Department is seeking a Temporary Access Service Assistant to support daily library functions and assist in the transition to new operating software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with check-outs, returns, and customer service questions at the circulation desk.
• Label devices with barcodes and numbers for tracking purposes.
• Test systems for operability before loaning to patrons.
• Shift and organize bookshelves and their contents.
• Partner with library staff in transitioning to a new operating software.
• Fulfill opening and closing procedures in the library.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of PC operations and software.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed by the department.
• Customer service experience or knowledge.
• Experience with library management systems.
• Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.

As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible for paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement. Pay

$14.00 per hour.
