Customer Service Associate - Temporary

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient checkout service; register sales, handle cash, process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits (greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (proactive help, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
• Recommend items for sale, trade‑up or companion products, and promote promotional photo services.
• Maintain clean, well‑merchandised counters and shelves; take inventory, keep records, price merchandise, and construct displays (promotional, seasonal, super structures, sale merchandise).
• Implement asset‑protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
• Assist with food‑item separation, stock rotation using the first‑in‑first‑out method, and restocking of consumable items.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster printing, creative machine usage, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
• Handle web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, and deliver orders to customers as they arrive.
• Assist with exterior and interior store maintenance to keep the store clean, neat, and orderly.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Attend training and complete required PPLs as requested by the manager or assigned by corporate.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
• Preferred: at least six months of experience in a retail environment, preferably with Walgreens.

Pay

Salary range: $15 – $17.50 per hour. Compensation will depend on geography, skills, abilities, education, experience, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekend hours.
