Temporary 4 Hour Special Education Instructional Assistant
Job Description
This is a temporary position providing 1-on-1 support for a student in the TLC program who is transitioning to homebound instruction. Responsibilities include assisting with academic instruction, supervision of the student in both classroom and non-instructional settings, implementation of behavior support strategies, and collaboration with the instructional team to ensure continuity of services in the homebound setting. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Accurate reading, writing, and listening skills.
- Ability to successfully work with moderately-impacted special education students.
- Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test exam (or other comparable skills evaluation) prior to hiring.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and adults.
- Must be currently or willing to become first aid/CPR certified.
- Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephones, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written material; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs).
Pay
$19.52 to $24.68 per hour depending on experience.
Schedule
This position begins as soon as possible for the 2024-25 school year, ending June 10, 2025.
