About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoots mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints
  • Performs preventive maintenance on weekends
  • Rebuilds equipment as required
  • Aids in the installation of new equipment
  • Aids in the maintenance throughout the entire facility as required
  • Manually greases, changes oil, and cleans various plant equipment
  • Monitors equipment and computer boards
  • Assists with installation of new equipment
  • Assists with maintenance throughout the entire facility as required
  • Works other shifts when necessary
  • Understands and agrees to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout)
  • Complies with OSHA standards
  • Saturday and Sunday work required
  • Works closely with other maintenance personnel to receive and pass along information concerning the job
  • Communicates and gets along well with others
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to reach, lift and work overhead
  • Must be able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to complete mandatory online training

Qualifications

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days. Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.

Must have at least 3 months of maintenance experience. Enrollment in a maintenance/mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience.

Skills

Good hand-eye coordination

Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed

Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other obstacles

Able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry

Able to communicate and get along well with others

Able to climb ladders

Able to reach, lift and work overhead

Able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift

Able to complete mandatory online training

Base Pay Range/Rate: $27.25

Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.

Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package. Tyson will develop an offer based on a candidate's or team member’s relevant skills and capabilities, the market data for the role described in this requisition, internal equity, and other information relevant to the candidate and role.
