Temp: Work Study Student (Athletics)
Position Summary

Job Summary
Students are placed into a worksite environment to gain experience in a particular career field in order to earn high school credits. Work Based Learning Interns do not replace a regular employee, but performs the tasks that they are assigned for the purpose of discovering if it a career field they would to pursue. Any student who is under 18 years of age must obtain a work permit.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Variety of worksite experiences can include (1) Technology including working with websites, hardware and software; (2) Plumbing, Electrician, Auto Repair, Machine Shop and Maintenance; (3) Performing in office environment to learn to use Microsoft Office Suite skills and office equipment; (4) Working alongside Signature Program or Magnet Program leaders to support programming; or (5) Providing teacher, classroom, and outdoor learning support in AACPS elementary and middle school summer camps.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

- Education: Other: Must be a student at the school where working or assigned to a neighboring middle school.

- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics: Excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently and harmoniously with other students and at the direction of school administrators and staff. Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations. Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
