TEMP Staff Psychiatrist - Consult Liaison/EmPATH (Crisis Stabilization) Unit
About the role
The EmPATH (Crisis Stabilization) Unit at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team. This position involves providing consultation to the Emergency Department, Skilled Nursing Facility, and General Inpatient Psychiatric Units (IPU) for patients with concurrent behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities
- Consult to the ED, SNF, and general IPU patients with concurrent behavioral health needs
- Average of 4-6 consults per shift
- Patients will be medically cleared before being transferred to the EmPATH unit
- Staffing by caregivers specifically trained to treat psychiatric emergencies
- Use of soothing music and artwork to help calm patients
- Location: Adjacent to the ED within the hospital
