Position Summary

The selected candidates will be notified via email. They will select the programs of interest during the application process. Most Summer Programs have specific dates and times confirmed upon hiring.

About the Role

Provides special education services for Extended School Year (ESY). Essential duties include developing and implementing appropriate therapeutic activities, assisting with collaborative activities, supporting students' communication needs, maintaining data, and communicating with parents.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements appropriate therapeutic activities according to identified ESY goals/objectives.
  • Aids in the implementation of collaborative activities with other professionals.
  • Aids other professionals in supporting students' communication needs.
  • Maintains current and accurate data collection regarding student performance and attendance.
  • Maintains effective parent/school communication.
  • Prepares and distributes progress notes at the end of the session.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Working knowledge of AACPS special education student database – TIENET.
  • Ability to use technology, including specialized assessment and data analysis software.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite).

Qualifications

  • Speech and Language Pathologist License issued by Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Speech-Language Pathologists & Music Therapists.
  • Speech and Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Certification issued by American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA).
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) issued by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).
  • Actively enrolled in Maryland Medicaid.
  • Immediate enrollment in Maryland Medicaid upon receipt of NPI.

Skills

  • Knowledge of AACPS special education student database – TIENET.
  • Ability to use technology, including specialized assessment and data analysis software.
  • Proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite).
