Temp Part-Time Faculty in Early Childhood Education
This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
About the Role
The University of New Mexico’s Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or online lower division courses (1000/2000 Level) during the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2026 semesters. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements.
UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching, including meeting face-to-face during assigned times (which may include evenings or weekends), content delivery, assignment development, grading, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.
Candidates selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
- Three years teaching experience in an early childhood setting or at the elementary education level
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education
- Three years university teaching experience
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
Pay
Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on credentials and credit hour course loads.
Salary range: $1,135.26 - $1,228.24 per credit hour.
