Telluride Sports Gondola Plaza Store Manager

Job Summary

Manage an alpine retail and ski/snowboard rental shop located in Telluride, CO. Store Manager will need to successfully manage a fast-paced retail and rental environment, multitask and manage multiple customers. Lead, mentor and train a staff of 08-15 employees on providing exceptional service to our guests. Store Manager oversees day-to-day functions of all store operations.

About the Role

Prepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for managed location.
Create a positive team environment.
Maintain rental fleet tunes and ASTM requirements.
Proficient in POS operations including opening/closing procedures and reporting.
Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll.
Maintain administrative responsibilities including training, staffing, budgeting and reporting.
Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognition.
• Hold regular staff meetings to ensure health and safety standards and company policies are being followed.
• Address staff needs and complaints.
• Establish Performance goals for staff, conduct bi-annual and annual performance appraisals.
• Prepare store for retail and rental inventories.
• Maintain retail / rental inventory to prevent shrink.
• Participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
• Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
• Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain.
• Communicate companywide messages and new information to staff.
• Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Employee is returning to retail sales within the company or has at least two-year previous experience in sales or retail.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Bachelor degree in related field or four years minimum of retail management experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses staff complaints and resolves problems.
• Prepares and communicates weekly staff schedules.
• Submit payroll and compute staff commissions for each pay period.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with team lifting.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is infrequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
