Responsibilities
- Engage and connect with customers by providing the highest level of service to enhance guests experience.
- Work with team to maintain presentation of store including sizing, straightening, restocking and cleaning of shop.
- Multi-task and work in a busy environment.
- Strive to exceed daily and seasonal sales targets, use upselling and add-ons to increase sales.
- Maintain and stay up-to-date on product knowledge to provide exceptional guest service.
- Answer customer questions; provide detailed information including features and benefits of products.
- Maintain professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.
- Support Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
- Adhere to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
- Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain.
- Perform POS operations including opening and closing procedures.
- Perform cashier functions: operate cash register; take payment and return correct change; process credit card payments along with returns and shipping fees as needed.
- Provide a fun guest experience that exceeds members/guests’ expectations.
- Receive goods, tagging, transferring.
- Prepare the shipping of product as needed.
- Assist with the promotion and execution of retail shop sales.
- Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
- Clean shelves, counters, floors and merchandise as needed.
- Refer customer problems and complaints to manager or another senior staff member if appropriate.
- Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months minimum of retail experience.
- Available to work weekends, holidays and overtime.
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn point of sale systems, inventory systems, basic accounting, Microsoft Office, internet search engines.
- High-attention to detail.
- Positive, energetic attitude and customer focused.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify areas that may need improvement and have initiative to seek solutions.
- Team player.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with team lifting.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Infrequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Pay
Expected pay range begins at $25 to $30 per hour. Individual compensation dependent on experience and variety of factors.
