About the Role
We are looking for someone who is engaging and energetic to provide exceptional service to the members at Resound Credit Union. As a Universal Associate, you will provide quality service to our members by processing transactions accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures and educating about our products and services. This position is the "frontline" of the credit union and is a key role in achieving our member satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Process member transactions, including, but not limited to, deposits, loan payments, cashier's checks, transfers, check cashing, withdrawals, and bank-to-bank wires.
- Proof and verify transactions. Examine documents for endorsements and negotiability. Detect and resolve discrepancies.
- Be alert and aware to help prevent fraudulent activity or errors that would result in a loss to the credit union.
- Perform account maintenance, create debit cards, and order checks. Complete various forms associated with account ownership and member authorizations.
- Cross-sell and promote Resound Credit Union products and services.
- Balance daily transactions and verify cash and check totals. Investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions. Purchase and sell funds to the vault as needed to keep cash drawer at required levels.
- Understand and adhere to all applicable banking regulations and Resound policies and procedures.
- Respond to member questions and direct them to other staff as needed. Stay informed and knowledgeable of all credit union rates, fees, products, and promotions to assist the members with financial needs. Actively cross-sell products and services. Provide information to members concerning different types of consumer loans, credit cards, terms, interest rates, and potential documentation needed for the loan.
- Educate members on technology and digital solutions offered by Resound Credit Union.
- Attend required training and department meetings as directed by the Branch Manager and Training Manager. Keep work area clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Ensure all required documents are imaged.
- Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information including members' data.
- Abide by all security and robbery procedures.
- Assist with training other staff members as assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college or specialized financial services training is preferred.
- One year of teller experience is preferred.
- Minimum one year of customer service and/or sales experience with cash handling is required.
Physical, Mental, and Visual Requirements
- The duties of this job are varied and are primarily designed to accommodate members. To efficiently meet the service needs of members, the job often requires the ability to alternate between standing, sitting and walking.
- Many of the duties are performed with a personal computer and require manual dexterity and accurate visual observation.
- Manual dexterity is also needed to quickly and accurately handle cash and essential documents.
- Excellent verbal and audio communication skills are needed to serve the members.
- The volume and nature of the duties of this job require the physical and mental stamina to withstand occasional periods of high stress.
