About the role

The Teller I assists members and potential members with their Credit Union financial needs in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner, both in person and on the phone, following current service model standards. The Teller I refers members to appropriate Credit Union personnel for services outside the scope of given responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Process member financial transactions, including cash and negotiable instrument deposits and withdrawals, instant issue creation, fraud research and service events, and certificates of deposit.
• Make payments on and answer questions concerning existing loans.
• Enroll accounts in online banking and assist with login and self‑service questions.
• Assist with member access to safe deposit boxes.
• Complete and submit documentation for IRA deposits and withdrawals.
• Print transaction history to assist members with personal balancing and research.
• Identify cross‑sell opportunities for new or existing members to enhance their relationship with the Credit Union.
• Balance cash and negotiable instrument transactions daily; sell cash to vault to maintain approved cash limit.
• Post vault tickets and balance vault under dual control.
• Resolve member questions and concerns, both in person and over the phone.
• Promote and participate in branch promotions and Credit Union campaigns.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year cash handling or customer service experience is required.
• Teller experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
