About the role
Responsible for providing quality service to the membership while conducting front-line transactions at AmFirst, a credit union committed to trust, integrity, and financial wellness.
Responsibilities
- Receives and processes financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Sells consignment items, cashier checks, and traveler’s checks to members.
- Transfers amounts from member accounts as directed; may handle safety deposit rental income.
- Balances cash drawer and daily transactions; notifies Head Teller of any discrepancies.
- Posts transactions to member accounts and maintains member records in accordance with credit union procedures.
- Welcomes members, provides routine information about services, and directs members to appropriate departments.
- Prepares Currency Transaction Reports and reports suspicious activity for Head Teller’s review.
- Cross-sells Credit Union services.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks, including processing night drop and ATM deposits.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members and employees, maintaining a Quality Loop score of 6.7 or higher.
- Balance your drawer daily and accurately post transactions with minimal errors.
- Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for members.
- Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
Requirements
- One month to twelve months of similar or related experience; 6 months of cash handling preferred.
- High school education or GED.
- Ability to use ten-key calculator and computer keyboard by touch.
- Strong attention to detail for handling numbers and names.
- Good judgment to evaluate identities, accounts, checks, and currency.
- Proficiency in using an online computer system, organizing transactions, and accurately handling large sums of money.
Skills
- Interpersonal skills for routine contacts with members and vendors, providing assistance and information with ordinary courtesy.
