Teller/Banker (Hwy 50 West)

About the role

As a Teller/Banker, you will often deliver the very first impression of the credit union to our members (credit union lingo for customers). You will become an expert and champion of Security Service products and services to help our members reach their financial goals. You will build and nurture long-lasting relationships by promoting our checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services, among others. You will only offer products and services that meet our members' needs and contribute to their financial success.

You will be a team player and support the credit union in becoming America's Best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, and educating members on digital services available to them. You will provide "universal" service and will be cross-trained in both teller and banker functions to better serve our members, which means additional learning and growth opportunities for you.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional first impressions and customer service to credit union members.
• Become an expert in Security Service products and services to help members achieve financial goals.
• Promote and cross-sell checking/savings accounts, loans, credit cards, insurance, and other services tailored to member needs.
• Meet sales goals and proactively identify opportunities to educate members on digital services.
• Provide "universal" service by performing both teller and banker functions.
• Support branch operations and contribute to team success.
• Complete additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service, and sales experience, or comparable experience.
• Customer-centric attitude with a focus on delivering great member experiences while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible work schedule during normal business hours (no Sundays).
• May be required to travel to other branch locations for work or training.
• At management discretion, may be required to complete federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) within 180 days of request, per the S.A.F.E. Act. If registered, must maintain active registration, comply with all S.A.F.E. Act requirements, and update the Registry as needed.
• If required to register as an MLO, must pass a background check against the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Parties List (EPL), the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List), and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP) list. Must maintain ability to pass subsequent background checks and comply with all requirements.

Qualifications

• Desire to learn and grow within the credit union.
• Prior experience with banking or financial institution core systems and platforms.
• Experience recommending products and services that meet customer needs.
• Ability to ask high-impact questions to uncover member needs they may not be aware of.

Pay

Starting at $21.00/hr. based on relevant experience.
