Teller

About the role

The Teller is responsible for delivering accurate, professional, and solution-focused service to members. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to security procedures and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in person and by phone
• Provide information about credit union products and services
• Conduct account research
• Perform necessary file maintenance
• Assist with payroll and account changes
• Receive deposits, loan payments, and transfers in person, by phone, or by mail
• Transact cash or check withdrawals
• Provide cashier’s checks, money orders, and any other service within their authority
• Maintain a balanced and secured cash drawer
• Complete all necessary file maintenance documents
• Order checks for members, as appropriate
• Permit availability of funds for checks up to a specified amount without further approval
• Help members anticipate potential problems, offering suggestions and possible solutions
• Work with members to resolve potential problems, creating a positive member solution
• Understand member needs and professionally promote appropriate credit union products and services
• Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Palmetto Citizens products
• Enhance member service usage of Palmetto Citizens products
• Deliver assistance in a safe and secure manner
• Know the member and the depth of their relationship
• Always be professional and pleasant in handling member transactions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of customer service and/or cash handling experience
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal

Qualifications

• Bilingual candidates are a plus
