Teller

About the role

The Teller is responsible for delivering accurate, professional, and solution-focused service to members.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in person and by phone
• Provide information about credit union products and services
• Conduct account research
• Perform necessary file maintenance
• Assist with payroll and account changes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to security procedures and internal controls
• Other duties may be assigned as needed
• Solution‑oriented: help members achieve financial objectives, anticipate problems, offer suggestions, recognize needs, and resolve problems
• Product promotion: understand member needs, promote appropriate products, acquire/maintain product knowledge, enhance member service usage
• Tellering: deliver assistance safely and securely, know member relationship, handle transactions professionally and pleasantly, receive deposits, loan payments, and transfers (in person, by phone, or by mail), transact cash or check withdrawals, provide cashier’s checks, money orders, and other authorized services, maintain a balanced and secured cash drawer, complete file maintenance documents and order checks as appropriate, permit availability of funds for checks up to a specified amount without further approval

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of customer service and/or cash handling experience

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and non‑verbal)
• Bilingual candidates a plus
