It is the responsibility of the Teller to represent Middlesex Savings Bank to the public and colleagues, promoting the Bank's core values and mission through exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, performance goal achievement, sound decision-making, and team success.
Responsibilities
- Customer Experience
- Develops an understanding of customers’ needs and expectations, offering products and services that address them.
- Recommends products and services to establish or extend customer relationships, utilizing business partners as appropriate.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensures quality and accuracy of work, demonstrating sound technical knowledge of Bank products, services, and technology.
- Stays informed of and adheres to alerts, procedures, and policies.
- Performs duties in compliance with security, risk, and regulatory protocols.
- Maintains proficiency in regulatory compliance and adheres to all Bank policies, including confidentiality and email policies.
- Teamwork
- Actively contributes to branch team success, supporting supervisors in implementing policies and initiatives.
- Helps create a positive work environment.
- Credibility
- Follows through on tasks, manages time and priorities effectively, and demonstrates flexibility.
- Communicates clearly and professionally in written, verbal, and electronic formats.
- Supports branch, division, and Bank strategic goals.
- Decision Making
- Understands and complies with Bank policies and procedures.
- Identifies potential risks and alerts supervisors as appropriate.
- Escalates requests for exceptions and fraud warning signs to supervisors.
- Miscellaneous
- Performs functions within scope of authority to provide high-level service to customers and co-workers.
- Handles other related and unrelated duties as required.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled) is required.
- Work Experience: 3-6 months of banking or retail cash handling experience is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of basic math principles and ability to perform basic mathematical procedures.
- Intermediate technology skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work extended and weekend hours; scheduling and work location flexibility required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 pounds.
Pay
Expected pay range: $36,010 – $46,219. The range reflects the salary we in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, certifications, qualifications, internal equity, business needs, and market data.
