Teller

Provides prompt, accurate, and courteous in-person, drive-thru, or telephone service to members while processing routine financial transactions and answering questions. Cross-sells credit union products and services and makes referrals to a Loan Officer, Mid Oregon Wealth Management, or the Mortgage Lending area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Process routine financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service to members in person, via drive-thru, or by telephone.
• Cross-sell credit union products and services to members.
• Make referrals to Loan Officers, Mid Oregon Wealth Management, or Mortgage Lending as appropriate.

Requirements

• Pleasant, friendly demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency in keyboarding, including 10-key.
• Accuracy in handling transactions and cash.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and quickly.
• Ability to retain knowledge of credit union products and services and offer them to members when appropriate.

Physical Requirements

• Speaking on the telephone approximately 10% of the workday.
• Occasional need to shovel snow outside the office.
• Continuous sitting, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods.
• Use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing and writing.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing member transactions and computer usage.
• Memory demands for recalling credit union policies, services, and state/federal regulations.
• Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds to move supplies or office equipment.
• Bending, squatting, or kneeling to reach supplies on ground level.
• Reaching above shoulder level to access supplies overhead.
• Able to push with a dolly up to 250 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with an average noise level impacted by computers, printers, scanners, phones, and surrounding conversations. The credit union is located in Central Oregon, where winter weather may impact travel, and seasonal fires may affect air quality.

Schedule

The work schedule is typically 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Fridays.
