Pay

Salary range (depends on experience): $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Starting pay is generally within the minimum to midpoint of the range.

Schedule

• Rotating Saturdays
• Extended hours, holidays, and Saturdays as needed
• Drive‑up teller and night‑drop functions as assigned

Position Purpose

Responsible for consistently providing all members with an exceptional experience while efficiently processing a variety of member services, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances. Actively engage with members and introduce them to products and services that will help them achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions and represent the Credit Union in a courteous, professional manner consistent with the Fortera brand.
• Accurately process routine transactions such as cashing checks, depositing cash and checks, withdrawals, credit‑card cash advances, loan payments, check orders, transfers, wire transfers, stop payments, and redemption of savings bonds.
• Sell money orders, gift cards, and cashiers' checks.
• Maintain knowledge of credit union products and services; educate members on remote services (mobile/online banking, ATMs, shared branching) and other offerings.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer by following proper balancing procedures and complete required reports and records promptly.
• Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with members; promptly resolve requests and questions, complete account maintenance changes, and protect member privacy.
• Coordinate and collaborate with branch team and management; communicate significant issues, attend meetings, trainings, and committees, and participate in community and civic programs.
• Refer cross‑sell opportunities to Member Advisors (loans, new accounts, etc.).
• Complete all required compliance training and adhere to regulations including OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti‑Money Laundering, and USA PATRIOT Act.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and well‑maintained work area.
• Perform drive‑up teller and night‑drop functions as assigned and work at any Credit Union location as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Performance Measurements

• Teller functions performed efficiently, effectively, and accurately in accordance with policies, standards, and security procedures.
• Monies balanced with discrepancies promptly resolved; balancing records meet established standards.
• Good business relations with members; member problems or questions resolved courteously and promptly.
• Positive working relationships and coordination with team members and management.
