About the role
As a Teller, you are responsible for providing a variety of teller functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. This role is ideal if you enjoy helping people and have experience working in a financial institution or retail/cashier environment.
Responsibilities
- Process deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments efficiently and accurately.
- Receive checks and cash for deposit and payments; verify amounts and examine checks for endorsements and negotiability.
- Cash checks and pay out money after verifying signatures and customer balances.
- Enter customer transactions into the computer to record them and issue receipts.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds in accordance with check hold policies.
- Order daily supply of cash and count incoming cash.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Process negotiable instruments such as government bonds, wire transfers, cashier’s checks, Visa gift cards, and Western Union wires.
- Handle night drop and mail deposits/payments.
- Process share branching transactions for guest members following FSCC guidelines.
- Process general ledger debits and credits (e.g., ATM, Coinstar, miscellaneous fees).
- Address requests for basic account information, changes, stop payments, and rate details.
- Cross-sell additional products and services to meet member needs.
- Handle more complex requests, including mortgage payments, ACH transfer setup, ATM card ordering, and online check ordering.
- Follow the Red Flag Program Policy to detect and mitigate identity theft risks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months of Teller or equivalent experience in a credit union or similar financial institution.
- Alternatively, may qualify as a Teller Trainee with at least six months of cash handling experience, including balancing a cash drawer or register.
Physical Demands
Member-facing positions may require standing for extended periods. Seating is provided in reasonable proximity to work areas when duties permit.

Pay
$17.87–$26.81 per hour.
